Whether or not you like John Peel's favourite post-punk Derry group The Undertones is a matter of personal taste. But there's no denying the instant accessibility of their most popular single, 'Teenage Kicks'; or the appeal of lead singer Feargal Sharkey's distinctively warbly voice. The rest of their material, though, is pretty turgid. This overlong documentary covers those early years when Peel first discovered them, their acrimonious split and unwise reformation, without Sharkey, who followed his solo career with a stint as a record company executive. Only their most devoted fans will be braving the cold to sit this one out.
