The Two of Them (1977)
Director: Márta Mészáros
Movie review
From Time Out Film Guide
After 20-odd years of documentary work, Mészáros trusts what and who she puts in front of her camera and rarely relies on heavily plotted scripting. Here she establishes two drifting marriages and the relationship that evolves between the two women surviving within them. Such is the worthiness of intent - as much humanist as feminist - that it feels churlish to note that in truth it's not very exciting to watch.Author: DO
