Live Forever (2002)
Director: John Dower
Movie review
From Time Out Film Guide
It seems so long ago. 1994, '95, '96, when Britpop ruled the air waves and the Blur/Oasis debate reached the giddy heights of TV's Nine O'Clock News. This documentary captures the bubble, and talks to most of the major players - Pulp's Jarvis Cocker, Oasis' Gallagher brothers, Blur's Damon Albarn, writer Jon Savage and even Loaded publisher James Brown (though you probably wouldn't have to leave Soho for that lot). Still, there's not a great deal new or revelatory here, and for all Tony Blair's efforts, attempts to invoke socio-political significance seem glib. The highlight has to be Oasis singer Liam G demanding to have androgyny explained to him: 'I'm a bird? What's that mean? I take care of me hair?'Author: TCh
