Long Gone (2003)
Director: Jack Cahill, David Eberhardt
Movie review
From Time Out Film Guide
This intimate, poignant documentary allows a say to the hobos who still ride the rails across the United States. They include the likes of Dog Man Tony, who once featured on 'America's Most Wanted', but emerges as a thoughtful, sensitive old soak; Horizontal John; Joshua Long Gone; and New York Slim, a Viet vet of noble erudition. The film-makers put in the time and gained the trust. You end up respecting this band of broken brothers, if not envying their rough and rambling lifestyle.Author: TCh
