The Lost Continent (1968)
Director: Michael Carreras
Movie review
From Time Out Film Guide
Outrageously plotted (after Dennis Wheatley's novel Uncharted Seas), garishly shot and played poker straight, this Hammer masterwork mutates the Gothic into the surreal as Porter's potentially explosive ship drifts into the uncharted nightmare world of the Sargasso, where the seaweed bites and the natives live in a time warp. Sad that after Carreras took over control of Hammer from his father, his sole directorial credit should have been on Shatter (following Monte Hellman's sacking).Author: PT
