Brooks and Hagerty are a well-off professional couple with fond memories of Easy Rider and a 'nest egg' they've put by should they ever decide to abandon their life of comfy capitalism for the freedom of the open road. Unexpectedly and by accident, they suddenly find themselves out of work, selling up, and going to live in a mobile home. The nest egg will keep the wolves from the door - until, that is, they decide to bid farewell to everything they abhor with one last visit to Vegas, and find themselves penniless in Nevada. A deft satire on self-delusion, complacency and compromised ideals, played to perfection by the two leads; only the slightly too soft ending strikes a false note.Author: GA
