Love, Cheat & Steal (1993)
Director: William Curran
Movie review
From Time Out Film Guide
Not exactly bad, but in no way notable. When Roberts reads that old flame Amick - whose evidence put him away in the Ravensville State Prison, Nevada, seven years ago - has married wealthy banker Lithgow, he breaks out of stir together with cellmate Edson and heads straight for the newly-weds' California love nest, where he passes himself off as her brother. Not that he wants to kill her, understand: rather, he's set on robbing Lithgow's bank (with her reluctant help, naturally). Meanwhile honest John has other problems since he's uncovered a money-laundering scam perpetrated by bank officials in cahoots with Colombian drug barons. Lithgow does a decent turn, of course, but Edson seems to have picked up Roberts' taste for ham, and Amick is as shallow as those other youngsters who emerged from Twin Peaks.Author: GA
