Loved (1996)
Director: Erin Dignam
Movie review
From Time Out Film Guide
Writer/director Dignam's film is part earnest TV movie and part that elusive beast, the American Art Film. Hurt's a DA trying to convince Robin Wright Penn to testify against her abusive ex-husband. Trouble is, she still loves him. More ambitious than it sounds, this elliptical, superbly acted film aims for spiritual intangibles. The tone is set by Sean Penn's haunting cameo as a man tormented by the fences we put up around us.Author: TCh
