Love Story (1944)
Director: Leslie Arliss
Movie review
From Time Out Film Guide
If you thought the Erich Segal Love Story was a bit much, then try this one for size. Lockwood is a pianist dying of heart trouble, Granger a mining engineer going blind. Down in Cornwall where English movie passions bloom, she's composing a swan-song ('The Cornish Rhapsody') while he dickers over an operation that may restore his sight (but thereby hangs much soul-searching and self-sacrifice). Fulsome, indeed.Author: TM
