Movie review

From Time Out New York

Not in the foreseeable future, that's when, assuming your name is James Toback and you insist on making phonily provocative movies. Nonetheless, you won't be despised either: Any filmmaker that sees fit to include such unmotivated bits of business as a four-way fuck romp and a Mike Tyson cameo in a story about a self-centered female (Campbell) must be operating in an aesthetic universe all his own. None of it adds up to much, but Toback does tease out odd repeated ideas, something to do with sexual mentoring of "lovely" prospects. Unfortunately, his star Campbell's manipulator—and the film itself—isn't quite worth the attention.
