A director (Demirkubuz) planning a movie of ‘Crime and Punishment’ hits a block, considers casting a burglar as his Raskolnikov, and feels unable to do much to save his relationship with his girlfriend… The third part of Demirkubuz’s ‘Tales about Darkness’ trilogy is arguably also the best, both less skeletally abstract than its predecessors, and less reliant on dialogue to make its points. A pretty tough portrait of arrogance, anomie and self-absorption.
