Alone in the Dark (2005)

Movie review
From Time Out New York
Some things are better off in their original form. Take this video-game adaptation, which follows paranormal investigator Edward Carnby (Slater) as he battles with demons worshiped by an ancient tribe. Carnby enlists the expertise of his ex, an anthropologist played by Tara Reid, donning dark-rimmed glasses and, presumably, a brain. Any chance for suspense is thwarted by gratuitous violence, heavy-metal–propelled action sequences and laughably flat dialogue between characters who are barely more developed than in the Atari version.Author: EC
