The Perfect Catch (2005)
Director: Peter Farrelly, Bobby Farrelly
Movie review
From Time Out New York
The Farrelly Brothers spend their latest film charting the love triangle of Ben (Fallon), Lindsay (Barrymore) and 25 other men: the Boston Red Sox, with whom Ben has been hopelessly besotted since childhood. In addition to the team, she has to compete with his "summer family" of season-ticket holders. Fallon does an adequate job of making Ben's mania believable, although the portrayal of ballpark culture turns the film into a giddy celebration of fandom. But as a character observes when Lindsay's patience starts to run out, a team can't love you back.Author: AJ
