This antic documentary may have had some of its thunder stolen by 2003's School of Rock, but tooling down the poster-lined hallways of Paul Green's Philadelphia clinic for Zep-inclined youngsters definitely has its charm. Behind closed doors, preteens plunk away at unwieldy bass guitars or fuzz-distorted axes, while in the main rehearsal room, a band tears meekly into "Rebel Yell." Green himself is a rampaging menace, bullying his students to excellence—or at least a finer appreciation of the task at hand: "You wanna play like the fuckin' Bangles?!?" Some viewers will cringe at this kind of tutelage, but give credit where it's due: Green won't coddle his kids, and that's Rock Rule No. 1.Author: JR
