Bustin' Bonaparte (2004)
Director: David Lister
Movie review
From Time Out New York
At a South African farm in the 1870s, life is quiet and mind-numbing for Lyndall (Kropinski), a feisty orphan who reads Karl Marx and grudgingly puts up with her cranky guardian, the God-fearing Tant Sannie. When an evil, top-hatted stranger named Bonaparte Blenkins (Grant) arrives, the farm's placid stasis is interrupted. While older viewers might appreciate the sun-drenched Southern Hemisphere landscapes, it's likely that only younger segments of the audience will cheer the inspiring but very predictable ending.Author: JC
