If Murderball, the new documentary about quadriplegics who play a rough form of wheelchair rugby, were actually a brand of chocolate bonbon, a Murderball® would have a coarse, crunchy shell and a sickeningly sweet nougat center. That rough exterior is personified by guys who sure don't behave handicapped, decking their streamlined carts with Road Warrior–like steel hubcaps and slamming into each other. But once you get into the nougat, you're bound to develop a cavity—especially during scenes in which a once-ferocious coach, chastened by a heart attack, makes time for his sensitive son.
