The Fog (2005)
Director: Rupert Wainwright
Movie review
From Time Out New York
No great shakes to begin with, John Carpenter's silly 1980 weather thriller, about a malevolent fog bearing vengeful ghosts that stalk a DJ, among others, certainly doesn't suggest remake material; it's merely the way station between Halloween and Escape from New York. Apparently, that wasn't enough to prevent this misguided attempt, which amps up the digital murk swirling around a sleepy Oregon island and stars Selma Blair as the radio host, but retains the insipid byplay between various vapid locals, suitable only for victimhood. Never will you wish more fervently for an Adrienne Barbeau cameo, just for old time's sake. Your prayers will be in vain.Author: JR
