Movie review
From Time Out New York
Hard as it is to believe, Jessica Alba is not the major flaw in The Eye. Indeed, she’s far from her usual shiny self as Sydney, a twitchy violinist, persuasively blind and, even more impressively, a believable sister to Parker Posey. Sydney has her sight restored in a daring operation, and that’s when the Asian-style ghosts start popping up—this is a lazy remake of a semidecent Hong Kong original. The new movie, directed by two inauspicious Frenchmen (Them), suffers from its own lack of fresh vision.Author: Joshua Rothkopf
