Rush Hour 3 (2007)
Director: Brett Ratner
Synopsis
A sequel to the hugely popular series of films about comically mismatched cops Lee and Carter. This time around Chief Inspector Lee runs into trouble while escorting Chinese Ambassador Han to the World Criminal Court Summit in Los Angeles. Detective James Carter, now demoted to traffic cop, is on hand to help however, and soon the pair are heading to Paris to do battle with the French police, the triads and, of course, each other.
Movie review
From Time Out New York
Just because fast food sells doesn’t mean it’s tasty, and just because this cinematic equivalent to a Big Mac will be seen by millions of paying customers doesn’t make it watchable. We know this Paris-set threequel is merely a Hope-Crosby “Road” movie updated for urban audiences. But nothing can justify the stale gags or Chris Tucker’s shrieking minstrel show, and not even a Lalo Schifrin score can drown out the sound of money being counted. Feel free to call it commerce. Just don’t mistake this for entertainment.Author: David Fear
