From Time Out New York

Itching for a child but stuck in a marriage in which his breadwinner wife sets all the domestic parameters, lazy house-herr Davis (Sage) has an affair with a real-estate agent (Misner) and then plots homicide as the key to his new life. Initially diverting and peppered with a few first-act surprise twists, this wanna-be neonoir ends up being as half-committed to its goals as its protagonist. One increasingly implausible moment follows the next, while a smugly skeptical detective (Scheider) drops pretentious references to Schopenhauer’s theories on will and desire.
