From Time Out New York

There are those who think remaking Elaine May’s 1972 cringe-comedy classic at all is sacrilegious, and those who are simply ecstatic that the star and directors of There’s Something About Mary have reunited. Both of those groups will loathe this rom-com. The original’s premise has been stripped of anything to do with upward mobility, and except for one shot involving a Prince Albert, the Farrellys’ signature shock humor is largely absent. This Heartbreak Kid’s idea of funny is Carlos Mencia with a large mustache. That pretty much says it all.
