From Time Out New York

A pair of well-shaded performances by Joe Pantoliano and Marcia Gay Harden dignifies a sincere but innocuous look at a blue-collar husband’s struggle with his wife’s schizophrenia on the coast of Florida. Devon Gearhart adds a bittersweet dimension as the couple’s confused, embarrassed and heartbroken son—a role intimately familiar to writer-director Joseph Greco, who grew up with a mentally ill mother. Good intentions abound, but flat direction, flaccid music and unremarkable writing make this drama better suited for a basic-cable weepathon.

Posted on Oct 11 2007 12:44 More tissues than Dead Poet's Society. Call me a sucker but I love a movie that's emotionally cathartic--I don't want to watch sci-fi or sex drugs and violence--I want a great story that makes me feel something, and this film does an amazing job taking me along for the most heatbreaking ride of my life. I loved it!
