Movie review

From Time Out New York

This smarty-pants cousin of An Inconvenient Truth goes easy on the pie charts and graphs, focusing instead on lambasting mercenary global-warming deniers and celebrating a cross-section of individuals trying to do something, however small, about it. Directors Daniel B. Gold and Judith Helfand—whose 2002 Blue Vinyl explored the hazards of PVC—are irreverent but not flippant, and their evident conviction that individual activism isn’t futile is a refreshing alternative to the oppressive gloom of most documentaries on the subject of catastrophic climate change. They don’t downplay the material’s seriousness, but they know a spoonful of humor helps the message go down.
