Movie review
From Time Out New York
Does the mere thought of watching Will Ferrell sporting a vintage Bill Walton ’fro send you into paroxysms of laughter? What about cheesy ’70s fashions, gratuitously salty dialogue and the expression jive turkey? Anyone who answered yes may find this comedy about an underdog basketball team trying to make it into the NBA funny. Everybody else will recognize it as a lazy variation on Ferrell’s usual aggressive-manchild goofing. Only the banter of Will Arnett’s and Andrew Daly’s dim-witted sportscasters elicits any real laughter. The rest is just brick shots and air balls.Author: David Fear
