Movie review

From Time Out New York

Once again, gory horrors befall oddly committed videographers— in this case, a TV crew trapped inside a rabies-infected Los Angeles building swarming with flesh-chompers. Even The Blair Witch Project never quite licked this concept’s essential dumbness: Put. The camera. Down. Already. But Quarantine has just enough stylishness—it might be the best of this trendlet—to justify itself as a thrill-ride. Extended scenes of panic are effective, and even Hitchcock would smile at the dispatching of one sickie with the lens itself, a blood-spattered weapon.

Posted on Oct 25 2008 16:38 I will go and see it but it will detract from the fact i have seen the Spanish original version called Rec. The trailer we saw for Quarantine looks exactly the same as the spanish original version to the letter using exactly the same scenes, just avoiding the need for subttles. I am an avid horror fan and few things make me squirm but Rec had me hiding behind a cushion, I only hope Quarantine does Rec some justice and a remake of an amazing film just to avoid subtitles is a hame, I hope Quarantine lives up to the amazing precident set by Rec.
