Daylight Robbery (2008)
Director: Paris Leonti
Movie review
From Time Out London
The title of this foul-mouthed and derivative Brit crime caper (in which Barry from ‘EastEnders’ is a highlight) could be referring to one of three things: 1) the ‘robbery’ that takes place during ‘daylight’ by a band of single-trait mockney goons at the centre of this thrill-neutral howler; 2) a description of what the makers of this film have done to all the characters, ideas and set-pieces from ‘The Great Escape’, ‘Dog Day Afternoon’, ‘Killing Zoe’ and Guy Ritchie’s entire oeuvre; and 3) the exact expression that you’re likely to utter if you pay for a ticket to see this utter garbage. It may even be all three.Author: David Jenkins
