Synopsis
Another one? Really? Jigsaw orchestrates another round of sadistic death traps.
Movie review
From Time Out New York
Somehow screenwriters Patrick Melton and Marcus Dunstan manage to keep Jigsaw (Bell) in the picture even though he’s dead. The games begin when FBI agent Strahm (Patterson) discovers the carnage left at the end of Saw IV, only to be forced to endure his own sadistic ordeal. He survives, but rival detective Hoffman (Mandylor) gets the credit. Realizing that Hoffman was Jigsaw’s accomplice-protégé, Strahm revisits earlier crime scenes in search of evidence (cue many flashbacks, augmented with new footage incorporating Hoffman) while five new victims are put to the test. The killings are sadistic and gory, which is all you can ask for this late in the franchise.Author: Maitland McDonagh
