Movie review

From Time Out New York

An uptight student (Strong) accompanies a bohemian (Balk) on a family visit. Problems arise when she suddenly leaves him behind with her kooky clan; did we mention that they grow pot and the Feds may be closing in? In case the retro title credits and character-actor casting (Peter Bogdanovich, Brad Dourif) didn’t tip you off, Darren Grodsky and Danny Jacobs are aiming for an offbeat ’70s vibe. Though the movie achieves that New Hollywood contact high only in fits and starts, this familial drama still leaves a pleasant buzz.
