Where is Winky's Horse? (2007)
Director: Mischa Kamp
Movie review
From Time Out Online
Ebbie Tam reprises her role as the cute horse-loving Chinese youngster in this equally engaging sequel to 2006’s Netherlands-set children’s film, ‘Winky’s Horse’. Being of a Christmas nature, the last film concluded with Saint Nicholas letting Winky look after his beautiful white mare, Amerigo. This one picks up from there. With another child on the way, Winky’s parents have enough to think about without figuring in the adventurous spirit of their daughter who swears she’s old enough to ride the horse. And this she does, with some regret…Micha Kamp’s appealing follow-up tackles the same themes of selflessness, patience and virtue, and offers up another ebullient performance from Tam. It’s a fabulous film for youngsters but they will need to be of reading age.
