Movie review

From Time Out New York

Chris Evans is pleasant enough to look at, but he’s not someone you’d imagine would develop intricate plans to outsmart his opponents. So it’s amusing when, in the middle of this psychic-rebels-versus-evil-government-agency mess, his telekinetic slacker suddenly demonstrates the strategic gifts of Carl von Clausewitz. You shouldn’t look for plausibility, however, in a movie that features telepaths getting info by sniffing toothbrushes; you just want kick-ass fights and chases. Alas, Paul McGuigan’s jittery editing and shaky cameras make the action confusing rather than thrilling, and nothing can save this movie from the screenplay’s nearly incomprehensible twists.

Posted on Feb 14 2009 18:06 Incomprehensible twists... strategy... intricate plans... this is what made this movie above the rest. Wow to insult a movie which, instead of famous "gun scenes and car chases" actually tries to have a plot, and a deeper, philosophical point, is just... what I would expect from todays society. See, its like mainstream music, does not have to be lyrically impressive, just has to "sound good", meaning, no one even cares what the message is. Granted, the movie is not that deep, but like i said, the intricate planning makes it all the more fun and enjoyable, and you really only need half a brain to follow the "intricate plans". Incomprehensible, haha, I guess you were speaking on your own inability to comprehend it. I would say, its worth watching... twice.

Posted on Feb 07 2009 21:12 I was very disappointed in the movie. From watching the previews it looked like a good movIe but once in the theatre it was not good to me at all. It was long and didnt really make sense. It looked like they were trying to be like X-Men with the different powers the characters had but they were way off...I wouldn't reccomend anyone spending money to go see it.... 2 thumbs down!!!!
