Hannah Montana: The Movie (2009)
Director: Peter Chelsom
Movie review
From Time Out New York
Disney’s pop-princess once again hits the big screen in this all-singin’, all-dancin’ production. Unlike the 3-D concert movie, there’s a proper plot: Miley’s getting too big for her boots as Hannah, so dad (real-life pop Billy Ray Cyrus) takes her to backwoods Tennessee to bring the tween down to earth. Teenage stomping, cowboy romancing and much family hoedowning on the porch ensue. Kids will love the snazzy musical numbers, while Miley’s coming-of-age conflicts should have genuine resonance for adults. Did we just use the term genuine resonance in regard to Ms. Montana?
