Movie review

From Time Out Online

This latest from director Chuyen is a lilting slice of social realism with a pleasingly poetic edge which sees a dissatisfied newlywed deciding to look beyond her shambolic taxi driver husband for social and sexual gratification. A relationship with her best female friend seems possible, but then she’s thrown off balance when she’s pushed into the arms of another. With a keen eye for the revealing minutiae of day-to-day life in a poor Vietnamese neighbourhood, this languorous tale of amour fou sees the woman embark on a strange sexual odyssey where romantic come-ons are difficult to decipher and even more difficult to capitalise on.
