Value for Money (1955)
Director: Ken Annakin
Movie review
From Time Out Film Guide
Despite inheriting his old man's millions, rag magnate Gregson still counts every penny, so much so that fiancée Stephen turns down his marriage proposal, unable to face a life of drudgery as his replacement housekeeper. Rejection leaves the moneybags skinflint to drag his sorrows down to London, where Cup Final night throws him together with gold-digging chorus gal Ruthine West (Dors) who knows a good thing when she sees it. Cliché piles on cliché in this moderate '50s comedy spun out from a novel by Derrick Boothroyd.Author: TJ
