Movie review
From Time Out Film Guide
Evening on a reservoir road and a film director exchanges his viewfinder for the gun of a passing motorcycle cop . He then proceeds to shoot himself - or so it seems - in a kaleidoscope of collapsing geography and personality. Starting from the point of a fatally tarnished relationship, the director's life melds with the prerogatives of film as he seeks adventure over thought. This is a manifesto for cinema and life. Employing his regular motifs - the road, travel, walls, isolation and brief, urgent unions - to illuminate the images as much as whatever narrative or psychology they advance, Panayotopoulos' film is complex but rewarding. Its closing image of the director colouring snow like he wants to fill the empty frame is a poignant illustration of the imperatives of creativity.Author: GE
