Vietnam Journey (1974)
Director: Christine Burrill, Bill Yahrhaus, Jane Fonda, Tom Hayden, Haskell Wexler
Movie review
From Time Out Film Guide
A deceptively quiet and relaxed film, almost a home movie of Jane Fonda's travels within North Vietnam with her husband Tom Hayden (including a visit to Hanoi film studios, where she interviews actress Tra Giang). Certainly no political tract, it is, in fact, the tour as covered by Fonda in Rolling Stone. While the film perhaps doesn't solve the central problem of coping with Fonda's status as a personality, its openness, warmth, and occasional gaucheness lend it notably radical dimensions by comparison with the relentlessly single-note coverage of the war and its bizarre aftermath on TV and in the press.Author: VG
