From Time Out Film Guide

Update of those putting-on-a-show escapades of the '40s, featuring Scott Fitzgerald, Mud, The Glitter Band, The Rubettes, Slick. All are top of the pops, with the exception of Bob Kerr's Whoopee Band, who seem a race apart and predictably get the least exposure. For the first hour, unfunny comedy dominates, as Denyer and a reluctant Freddie Jones track down famous groups for a 'Pick of the Hits' concert; the final 30 minutes is music, music, music. Despite the title, it makes you feel at least 102.
