The Night My Number Came Up (1955)
Director: Leslie Norman
Movie review
From Time Out Film Guide
RC Sheriff turned a newspaper article by Air Marshal Sir Victor Goddard (a leading spiritualist and communicator with the Other Side) into this suspenseful Ealing aerial drama. On a military flight from Hong Kong to Tokyo, Air Marshal Redgrave grows progressively more uptight as unfolding events begin to form a worryingly uncanny match with a nightmare experienced by fellow officer Hordern. Clever plot construction, a planeload of top British thesps (Elliott's the jittery former wartime crack-up case, Knox a nervy diplomat flying for the first time), and assured handling from director Norman all give good value.Author: TJ
