The Night of the Following Day (1968)
Director: Hubert Cornfield
Movie review
From Time Out Film Guide
Cornfield is one of the more enigmatic film-makers of post-war Hollywood, an industry insider from an early age, whose occasional movies are quirky, innovative and well worth seeking out. This one is a gripping account of a kidnapping that goes wrong, and the script takes its dream-like narrative structure from - of all things - Ealing's Dead of Night. Its other major asset is an expert cast, with Brando giving one of his most gutsy, enjoyable, least mannered performances of the '60s, and Boone outstanding as a sadistic thug.Author: DP
