The North Avenue Irregulars (1978)
Director: Bruce Bilson
Movie review
From Time Out Film Guide
The British release title, Hill's Angels, may be misleading but it's no misprint: the hero is Presbyterian minister Mike Hill, the angels are his nutty female parishioners, and they all have some cutesy, badly-plotted fun battling against a horrid crime syndicate. The style is the norm for late '70s Disney: low on kids and animals, high on limp satire of contemporary fads (citizens' radio) and car-mangling. The cast is a weird mix of Hollywood veterans and younger talents who deserve far better parts; the director's a recruit from TV; the result is just about bearable.Author: GB
