Ecoute Voir… (1978)
Director: Hugo Santiago
Movie review
From Time Out Film Guide
A weird political thriller, this features Deneuve as a private eye (part Emma Peel, part Bogart), investigating a group practising thought control via doctored radio waves, shuffling trench-coated through a country house mystery. Not entirely free of the metaphysical riddles that swamped the earlier work of Argentinian exile and Borges enthusiast Santiago, this hit-and-miss effort is at least shot with flair and works the senses (particularly by way of its complex stereo soundtrack) without ever quite making sense itself.Author: PT
