Movie review
From Time Out Film Guide
Perry stars as a demon rodeo rider Lane Frost. From the moment tiny tot Frost is hoisted on to a baby bull, charges 20 feet and falls off on his head, his path to fame is assured. It's a true story, so the plot is perfunctory - is Frost too common for cute rodeo gal Kellie (Geary)? Next thing you know he's married and buckling on the World Championship belt. But soon he's canoodling with the 'buckle bunnies', neglecting doe-eyed Kellie and proving his inability to tame too unridden monsters, the wild bull Red Rock and his marriage. Perry is too petulant to convince us of Frost's dark side; while Avildsen remains a proponent of the point-and-shoot school of direction. The film redeems itself somewhat by its downbeat ending.Author: SFe
