Ek Baar Phir (1979)
Director: Vinod Pande
Movie review
From Time Out Film Guide
The first Hindi film to be shot in London (with English subtitles), Ek Baar Phir should provide students of the genre with enough material to keep them distracted (unusual locations, heroine demanding a divorce from husband over the phone). Non-Hindi filmgoers might find other elements of interest - Saeed Jaffrey playing himself; an intriguing account of rupee black market finance - but are more likely to be deterred by the inordinate length, eccentric use of song, and heavy emotional underlining. Something like reading 2,000 pages of Mills & Boon romance. CPea.Author: CPea
