Simple-minded tract disguised as a romantic comedy in which Redford's has-been rodeo cowboy, condemned to star in breakfast food commercials, takes off for the wide open spaces to stage a protest when he finds that his horse is being kept drugged. Beguilingly sharp at first, but the later stages, with Fonda's toughie reporter tagging along for a story but going all mushy inside, wallow in sentimentality about integrity, ecology and all that jazz.Author: TM

a dated political corporate satire
this story of a runaway show cowboy and a hardtalking journalist who covers his story about exploitation of animals is trite and too melodramatic ,it has weirdly familiar lines and the fonda -redford romance is very irritating in a serious drama about corporate corruption .
the long sermons do not help and the villains are so black and the hero such a paragon of virtue,
it does have an interesting premise and the acting is good in patches with some good cinematography but the political message is not of any significance today as it has been done to death .
interesting but rather a mediocre effort for pollack as he is usually much better than this ,it banks too much on the romance between the leads which becomes very distracting . - Report as inappropriate
