Emmène-moi (1994)
Director: Michel Spinosa
Movie review
From Time Out Film Guide
Authentically painful study (with a Peter Hammill string score) of an ill-matched couple's forlorn attempts to revive their relationship after a two-year break. Sophie is headstrong, dominant, irresponsible, and incapable of finishing what she starts; Vincent, her deserted hotel-receptionist lover, is resentful, cautious and a mite dull. Though the film sometimes seems a little too self-consciously sordid, it's generally a fine effort, beautifully acted, shot through with real sexual passion and torment, and astute on the psychology of self-destruction.Author: GA
