The Evil That Men Do (1983)
Director: J Lee Thompson
Movie review
From Time Out Film Guide
Bronson as a hit man persuaded out of retirement to terminate a sadistic professional torturer in the pay of an oppressive South American government. Right from the opening sequence the film is a clumsy catalogue of pain and death, from the mutilated victims of the torturer to the trail of wasted baddies who were foolish enough to incur Bronson's wrath. The title openly declares a moral stance, but with the film quite happy to accept the assassin as a meter of justice, its ethics are as muddled and erratic as the editing and camerawork. There's only one lesson that comes through loud and clear: don't mess with Charles Bronson.Author: DPe
