Wayne's World 2 (1993)
Director: Stephen Surjik
Movie review
From Time Out Film Guide
A year has passed, Wayne and Garth (Myers and Carvey) are a little older, a little wiser, and 'starting to grow hair in really weird places'. While Cassandra (Carrere) pursues her rock career under the auspices of shady producer Bobby Cahn (Walken) and Garth falls into the welcoming arms of Honey Hornée (Basinger), Wayne is visited in his dreams by Jim Morrison and promises to put on a huge concert: Waynestock! Despite typically hip disclaimers, WW2 is in many respects a standard sequel, careful to rerun not only the (very sketchy) form of the original, but often the content as well. Odd, then, that this should be much funnier than the first film. A headbanger with brains, Wayne is a teen hero for ex-teens, and while the film isn't exactly 'mature', it must be baffling to anyone who doesn't remember the '70s with at least a modicum of embarrassed amusement.Author: TCh
