From Time Out Film Guide

In these days of personal shoppers, trainers and life coaches, it's no surprise to learn there are people who make a living planning other people's weddings. The immaculately groomed Lopez is ideally cast as Mary Fiore, the queen of wedding planners. To young, admiring girls she appears to be having a ball, but, a self-declared magnet for unsuitable men, she's less than clued-up about her own love life. Mary's loving dad Salvatore tries fixing her up with goodhearted Italian boy Massimo, but as he's presented as some kind of halfwit it's small wonder she's not too keen. Infinitely more suitable is dishy doctor Steve (McConaughey), who is charm itself and pretty stuck on her too - but as the fiancé of Mary's latest client Fran (Wilson-Sampras), he's hardly ideal either. Aspiring to ape classic screwball comedies of the '30s and '40s, this has the dance numbers and glossy photography of a good old-fashioned romance. But while Lopez and McConaughey are an appealing couple, the clunking script denies them any chance of doing a Hepburn and Tracy.
