Dried-out 'hellraisers' Burton and Harris totter together for this mercenary outing which transfers the fundamental plotline of The Professionals to Africa: sinister businessman Granger hires Burton as head of a private army to rescue imprisoned black liberal leader. Harris' gooey relationship with his son sets him up for the chop from the start; racist Krüger, to whom niggers are the white man's burden, ends up carrying black leader cross country and undergoes a last-minute change of heart; 'camp' doctor Kenneth Griffith gets ripped apart by lithe black men, much to his delight. The natives are more primitive than they were in Zulu. It's also the kind of film that would be deeply misogynist... if there were any women in it.Author: CPe

- Posted on Jul 25 2009 01:00 Probably the best film I have ever watched, it has everything. The storyline is believable and action packed. There are no special effects and the good guys do not always survive the ending of the film as with modern action films.
