Damn Yankees (1958)
Director: George Abbott, Stanley Donen
Movie review
From Time Out Film Guide
A musical lumbered with too much plot and tiresome Walston as the Devil who tempts an ageing baseball fan into rejuvenation for a year (in the person of Tab Hunter). But it also has scintillating choreography by Bob Fosse (his duet with Verdon, 'Who's Got the Pain?' is an eye-opener), and an equally brilliant score by Richard Adler and Jerry Ross (a songwriting team also responsible for the marvellous The Pajama Game, and only prevented from becoming the best on Broadway by the latter's untimely death).Author: TM
