Dances with Wolves – Special Edition (1990)
Director: Kevin Costner
Movie review
From Time Out Film Guide
The additional footage in this extended version of Costner's Western epic is basically more of the same, fleshing out relationships but making no radical difference to the film. Splendid panoramas abound, but a couple of extra sequences do serve to enhance understanding and motivation: notably, the battered state of Fort Sedgwick (with its caves and wreckage), and a scene in which an unsettled Lt Dunbar watches Sioux celebrate their slaughter of white settlers.Author: CM
